Hannah Bakels completed a (research)master in Neurosciences and Medicine. She works as a research physician and PhD-candidate at the Neurology and Human Genetics department of the Leiden University Medical Center. Hannah’s work focuses on Huntington’s Disease (HD) and in particular the pediatric form of HD. She has special interest in translational research themes, meaning that the emphasis of her studies is on the translation of clinical measures (e.g. age-related phenotype, patient symptoms or complaints) to pre-clinical measures (analysis of brain material of diseased HD patients) and the other way around.
