Willeke and Bas went to the AD/PD2024 conference in Lisbon starting on March 5th. This conference aims to share novel insights into the disease mechanisms and therapeutic innovations in Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
The first day was kicked off with a fireside chat with Michael J. Fox, who shared his experiences on living with Parkinson’s Disease.
The following days were packed with interesting talks and poster presentations that gave an extensive overview on the research that is performed in these fields.
There were also talks about novel (3D) models and techniques that will hopefully assist in further unravelling disease mechanisms and the development of therapeutics for these diseases.
We prepared a poster presentation ourselves, which resulted in interesting novel insights, ideas, and collaborations.
There was also time for a nice bike ride through Lisbon and trying out local delicacies!
